The
name of our winery has ignited many conversations, as it is not a familiar word.
Perissos is a Greek word found in the Bible meaning “exceedingly abundant, beyond what is expected, imagined, or hoped for.”
It is our sincere desire and aspiration to craft wines that live up to that description. However, with awe and gratitude, we can say that it is
our lives that have been blessed exceedingly and abundantly by God. Thus the name Perissos.

We began
planting small
test vineyards around the
Austin area in 2001. With our harvest, we processed the grapes and
made wine in our garage. Although it was
messy and
more work than we
ever imagined, we were hooked.
We fell in love with the idea of having a commercial vineyard and winery, and began looking for land in the Texas Hill Country.
Not long after, we found our
dream site – a
breathtaking valley in the Hill Country, only an hour from Austin. In the spring of 2005, we planted our first block of 900 vines. We added an additional 5,000 plants in the spring of 2008.
In addition to planting the vines, we built a
state-of-the-art winery and bottle storage room, along with our home, where we reside full time.
Future plans include building an architecturally beautiful tasting room and events center, as well as completing the planting of up to thirteen acres of vines. We hope you’ll stay in touch with us as we continue to grow and expand our dream!
